Can I leave my child at Growing Voices or do I need to stay?

You are welcome to stay for the first session if your child needs settling in but after that we would encourage you to leave your child at Growing Voices and collect them at the end of the session. It is important at this stage for the children to develop confidence in their singing without distractions. There will be an opportunity to hear the choir at the end of each term.

My child’s younger sibling would love to join in, can I bring them along?

The activities are designed for children aged 5-7 at Key Stage One level. We would like to keep membership to this age group. Please do bring the family to the end of term performances.

Who will be looking after the children during the session?

The sessions will be led by Natasha Melia (see About Growing Voices).

She is fully insured and CRB checked and will be supported by  music leaders in-training and parent helpers. Growing Voices follows a comprehensive child protection policy.

How do I become a parent helper?

You don’t have to be an experienced singer to be a parent helper but we will encourage you to join in the activities, to help support the children and to have some fun!

If you are interested in becoming a parent helper, please contact Natasha at info@growingvoices.co.uk

Will there be many performance opportunities for the choir?

We will aim to give an informal performance at the end of each term at St Michael’s for family and friends. We are also developing links with other community organisations which may generate opportunities to perform in the future.
